RUGBY'S BIGGEST PRIZE EN ROUTE TO THE BLUES

In less than three weeks’ time, the Webb Ellis Cup will visit Goldington Road as part of the Rugby World Cup Trophy Tour on Tuesday 18th August with your chance to take a ‘trophy selfie’.

Bedford Blues will welcome rugby’s greatest prize between 20:00 – 22:00, with a public event open from 19:30 in the Blues Marquee for all supporters to view and take a selfie on stage from 20:30 when the Trophy enters.

BLUES MEDIA & MARKETING INTERN OPPORTUNITY

Bedford Blues are seeking a Media and Marketing Intern for the 2015/16 season as the club looks to continue momentum on and off the field to help improve their communications output. The role will give the successful applicant the opportunity to work within the professional sporting environment of a Greene King IPA Championship Club for an eight to twelve month period, on a part-time basis including match-days.

The position will give the chosen intern an opportunity to experience life in a fast-moving industry and would ideally suit a student looking to fill a long-term work placement, or a recent graduate looking to break into sports media and marketing.

BLUES V AMPTHILL V OLD ALBANIANS

In less than four weeks, Bedford Blues will be kicking off their pre-season campaign with a triangular encounter against near neighbours Ampthill and Old Albanians.
 
On Saturday 15th August, the Goldington Road gates will be opened with the Blues facing National One opponents Ampthill at 2pm before taking on Old Abanians at 3pm. The afternoon will be rounded off with Ampthill pitting their wits against Old Albanians at 4pm with all games lasting 40 minutes.

BLUES SIGN CONLON AND GRIFFITHS

Bedford Blues and Saracens are delighted to announce an extension on their current working agreement which will see two players moving to Goldington Road for the 2015/16 Championship season.

Joel Conlon and Tom Griffiths have both signed deals with the Blues for the coming campaign but, in an emergency, they will be able to return to Saracens on loan.

Blues Chairman Geoff Irvine said: “We have a fantastic working relationship with Saracens and this further deal means that Bedford benefit from having two impressive signings while Saracens are safe in the knowledge that should they need to call on them, they can do so.

BRITISH & IRISH CUP FIXTURES 2015/16

The 2015/16 British & Irish Cup fixtures have been revealed as the cross-border competition enters its seventh year with Bedford Blues being grouped with Bristol, Ulster Ravens and Scarlets Premiership Select.

Following a wide-ranging review of competition structures across the game in Wales, Welsh teams in the competition will be represented by combined Regional Premiership squad teams.

The Blues will open their cup campaign with an away trip to Wales to face the Scarlets combined team on the weekend of 12/13/14 November before welcoming Ulster Ravens to Goldington Road at 3pm on Saturday 21st November.

BEDFORD BOYS ENJOYING ADDED FARM STRENGTH

The Blues squad were treated to an afternoon and evening on the farm last Thursday as they finished off block one of pre-season at Woburn Country Foods in Haynes, Bedfordshire.

On arrival the squad were treated to a butchery demonstration from ‘Speed Boner’ Babar where they watched the master butcher expertly bone out a carcass of prime Bedfordshire beef.

Bedford Blues are delighted to announce that their four year relationship with kit provider Zoo Sports is set to continue with a one year extension until the end of the 2015/16 season.

Since coming on board with the club in 2011, Zoo Sports have provided Bedford Blues with an impressive array of kits as well as a huge selection of leisurewear for players and fans alike.

As part of the new deal, Zoo are in the process of manufacturing a brand new away shirt for the 2015/16 Greene King IPA Championship season.

BLUES TO TAKEOVER NANDO'S IN AID OF SUE RYDER

Bedford Blues will be at Nando’s Bedford on Monday 20th July in support of a charity night to raise funds for Sue Ryder St John’s Hospice, and you can join them for just £15 per person.

Eight of this season’s Blues stars will be grilling, preparing and serving your meals as well as chatting to customers from 7:30pm as the players tackle this culinary challenge.

As well as the chance to mingle with the Bedford players there will be games, interviews and a raffle full of local prizes, not to mention a great menu!
