The long wait is finally over and competitive rugby returns to Goldington Road this weekend as Bedford Blues take on Ealing Trailfinders in the first round of the Championship Cup.

The holders coming to town could be deemed a daunting task but with a near five month break since the Blues last league clash, the whole squad are champing at the bit to get back into action and what a fantastic challenge to get things underway.

Looking ahead to the clash, Blues Backs Coach Paul Larkin said: “We’ve had two good run outs against Cambridge and Cardiff Blues so to finally get stuck into competitive action will give us a better indication of where we are.

Championship action returns to Goldington Road this Saturday 21st September as Bedford Blues welcome Ealing Trailfinders in the first round of the Cup competition (KO 3pm).  Save £4 and book tickets online here.

The Blues have finished third in the league table two years on the trot, with Ealing pipping them to second on both occasions, giving Mike Rayer’s men plenty of motivation ahead of the first competitive bout this weekend.

Added to that, Bedford managed a terrific home win over Ben Ward’s charges last season, and will be hunting a similar result to kick start the season.

Bedford Blues are delighted to appoint EatSport as their new hospitality catering partner for the 2019/20 season across all match day venues; including the Lifesure Suite, Blues Marquee, SDC Suite and Larry Webb Room.

The Club would also like to thank Doreen Lambert, who has been the Blues’ long-standing catering partner, and has chosen to retire after decades of service to the Bedford community.

Bedford Blues are delighted to reveal their brand new home kit for the 2019/20 season at today’s home match against Cardiff Blues (Kick 4pm).

Modelled by fan favourite and Bedford’s own Rich Lane, with new signings Sam Leeming and Grayson Hart, the new home shirt goes back to basics with a solid navy base with sky blue trims and collar.

Both kits are again manufactured by the club’s kit partner Zoo Sports, boasting a traditional style representing our history and heritage which is hoped to prove popular with supporters.

Led by Bedford’s own MC Sam Roberts and his son William, the exclusive podcast will go behind the scenes at the Blues and get to know all your favourite players.
