Bedford Blues have just been informed that their British & Irish Cup match against the Scarlets Select side that was supposed to kick-off at 2.30pm on Saturday 14th November will now take place the following day - Sunday 15th November - with a 3pm kick-off.

The match has been moved so that Welsh broadcaster S4C can show the game live on Sunday afternoon.

We understand that this may cause some inconvenience for our travelling supporters who have already planned their trip but we have only just been informed of the decision to change the fixture.

Rugby is an 80 minute game and Bedford needed every one of them as they overcame a tenacious Ealing Trailfinders side who find themselves rooted at the foot of the Championship table.

Steffan Jones converted a penalty with the final kick of the game to seal a 21-23 win and earn Bedford a valuable four points.

The home side started in fine fashion and were ahead in the seventh minute when scrum half Alex Davies converted a penalty after his pack put in a good scrum which caused the Bedford front row to buckle.

Bedford Blues headed to the Forest of Marston today to become official treehuggers for a brand new social media fundraising campaign. 

Director of Rugby Mike Rayer, winger Dean Adamson and back rower Josh Buggea visited the Forest Centre in Marston Moretaine to get behind the Trust’s #treehugger campaign which encourages people to have fun outdoors and raise funds for the Forest of Marston Vale Trust.

The new campaign urges people to take a selfie of themselves hugging a tree, post it on their preferred social media using the hashtag #treehugger, make a £3 text donation to the trust, and then nominate three friends to do the same. 

ATTENTION: All remaining Beer Festival ale just £2.00 a pint tomorrow evening as the Blues Marquee opens to screen a recording of Friday's fantastic victory over Rotherham Titans.

Doors open at 7pm for a 7:30pm showing on the big screen with various guest ales available at just £2 and a selection of draught and bottled drinks on the main bar.
