Dear Blues fans; at around 6pm last Saturday, I was stood in the Blues Marquee with a large smile on my face. We'd just racked up a fantastic bonus point win over Yorkshire Carnegie in a game that looked like it wouldn’t even go ahead!

Just over a week earlier, we had seen the forecast and the impending 'Beast from the East' due to descend on the UK bringing snow, wind and all sorts of chaos. As such, Mike Rayer and the team made the decision to cover the Goldington Road pitch and brace ourselves for what was to come. And boy did it come!

Bedford Blues are pleased to announce details of the End of Season Gala Dinner to be held in the Blues Marquee on Friday 18th May.

The evening will feature plenty of fantastic entertainment as Blues players, coaches and special guests alike, gather to mark the end of yet another incredible season of Championship rugby as well as the 20-year reunion of the Allied Dunbar Premiership Two winning team.

The Black-Tie Gala is sure to be a memorable evening with a superb four-course menu, audio-visual displays throughout the night, live interviews with our host Sam Roberts as well as music from the award-winning Alex Miles.

Bedford Blues put in one of their most comprehensive displays of the season to overcome a tough Yorkshire Carnegie side 41-22 at Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon.

At 9am in the morning, over 100 dedicated fans, players, coaches and the club chairman, descended on the ground to start shovelling, sweeping and wheelbarrowing tonnes of snow from the playing surface so that the game could take place. And it proved to be well worthwhile as the Blues ran in six tries in the bonus point win over Carnegie who fought valiantly throughout.

Bedford Blues welcome Yorkshire Carnegie to Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon in what is sure to be an exciting Greene King IPA Championship encounter.

When the two teams met back in October, fans were treated to a rollercoaster encounter which saw Carnegie rack up a 38-24 lead before a converted Chris Czekaj try in the 75th minute set up a grandstand finish. Bedford scored in stoppage time when Alex Penny stretched over the line, but Will Hooley's conversion attempt cruelly cannoned off the inside of the upright and bounced over the wrong side of the bar meaning the hosts took the spoils 38-36.
