You can watch two Blues games for the price of one this Saturday, October 18th.

The Blues Academy are in action first when they welcome the Northampton Saints Academy. The game kicks off at 12 noon at the Bedford International Athletics Stadium, Barker’s Lane, Bedford, MK41 9SB. Blues supporters can watch the Academy take on Saints (admission is free) and still get to Goldington Road to enjoy the Ladies Day, and Happy Hour, prior to the Blues B&I Cup home game with Cross Keys, which kicks off at 3.00 pm.

Bedford make a number of changes for the game. In the pack No. 8 Felix Maddison, and flanker Steffan Osman, both return from injury and prop Charley Robinson (Bromsgrove School and North Midlands U18s) makes his Blues debut. In the back line Olli Venni starts at scrum half, with Chris Easton at fly half. The Blues are captained by blind side flanker Joe Brock.

Blues Academy Director Denis Ormesher said … “After good away wins against St. Joseph’s College, Ipswich and the Oxford University U21 side in our last two games, Saints will present a much tougher challenge this week. As one of the RFU funded Academies they have the pick of players in the region and are always a well drilled and organised side.   Training has gone well since the Oxford game, despite the rain, and we ae looking forward to the Saints challenge.”
