BEDFORD BREWER BACKS THE BLUES

Bedford based brewery and pub company Charles Wells has announced that it will be renewing its long-running partnership with Bedford Blues in a new and improved three year deal.
As two great local institutions intrinsically linked to the town, Charles Wells and Bedford Blues have been working together for several decades with supporters cheering on the town’s team with a pint of some of Bedford’s finest beers.
To celebrate their renewed partnership, the brewery has produced a limited edition Blues pump badge for the team’s official beer and Bedford favourite, Wells Eagle IPA. The badge incorporates the club colours of Cambridge and Oxford blue as worn by the players in the new home jersey, whilst Charles Wells’ newest beer Young’s London Stout has made its debut at Goldington Road this season.
The partnership will also hail more interaction between two of Bedford’s biggest organisations with ‘Meet the Players’ events planned and competitions at Charles Wells’ pubs across Bedford in the run up to home matches. More details will be available on the official Charles Wells and Bedford Blues respective Facebook and Twitter pages.
Speaking at the official launch of the partnership at The Gordon Arms pub last week, Peter Wells, Managing Director at Charles Wells Pub Company said: “We are extremely proud to continue our long-standing partnership with Bedford Blues. We are looking forward to an exciting season ahead and cheering on our local team in true Bedford tradition with a pint of Eagle!”
Bedford Blues Chairman, Geoff Irvine said: “Our relationship with Charles Wells grows stronger with each new deal and this one has been no exception. We are excited to continue our fantastic working partnership and thank the brewery for their ongoing support. Both brands are synonymous with the town and we hope to further enhance our reputation with joint events planned throughout the season.”
