BLUES ACADEMY AT HOME

With the Blues away to Doncaster this weekend, Blues supporters have the chance to support the Blues Academy, with the next two home games at Goldington Road being Academy games against Oxford University and Wasps.

First up on Saturday October 25th, the Academy take on the Oxford University U21 XV for their second encounter this season.  Oxford are in preparation for the annual Varsity game at Twickenham against Cambridge University on 11th December.  The Blues beat the University in their away fixture three weeks ago by 32pts – 14.   The game is at Goldington Road, with Kick Off at 2.30 pm.  The bar is open, and admission is free.

Four days later the Blues Academy face the Wasps Academy – Wednesday October 29th at Goldington Road, KO 7.30 pm.

Blues Academy Director Denis Ormesher said … After a tough game at the weekend against Saints  we have three tough games coming up in 8 days – Oxford University and Wasps at home, followed by the RAF U23 XV away on Saturday November 1st.  We did well against Oxford a few weeks ago but we expect them to be that better prepared this time out.  Wasps, one of the RFU funded Academies, will be a tough challenge only four days later.  Balancing our playing resources across the three games, to ensure the boys are fresh for each game, will be key.

With the Blues away we hope as many Bedford supporters as possible come along to support the Academy in both home games.
