Following Bedford Blues’ success against Jersey last time out, Chairman Geoff Irvine has urged the rugby community to continue showing their support for the town’s club by keeping the attendance figures up and proving what the Blues means to the region.

The Blues Chairman, who is due to stand down in May 2016, said: “I would like to thank everyone who attended the first home victory of the season last Saturday despite the bad weather pre-match and helped make Goldington Road a fortress.

“As a club we were pleased with the turnout and we need numbers to continue to increase to show the value of this club in the community and bring people forward who can help shape its future. Last Saturday demonstrated how important the 16th man is to the boys and I would urge fans to continue their support by coming down to our next fixture which happens to be Ladies Day.”

The next home match is set to be a memorable occasion as Goldington Road plays host to the annual Ladies Day on Saturday 18th October where the Blues face Welsh qualifiers Cross Keys in the British and Irish Cup. Gates open at 12 noon with kick off at 3pm.
