DEFEO TO TOUR WITH ITALY

Congratulations to 18 year old Blues Academy centre, Nico Defeo, who has been selected for the Italy U20 squad for their four match tour of Ireland in August.  Italy will play the four Irish provinces, Connacht, Leinster, Munster and Ulster, as part of their preparation for this year's Six Nations tournament.

Nico, who captained the Bedford Modern School 1st XV last year, and has just completed his "A" levels at BMS, impressed the Italian selectors, during a week long training camp in Pisa, Italy last week.

Defeo qualified for Italy through his grandparents, Alessandro and Felica, who came to Bedford in the early 60s.  His grandfather Alessandro Defeo worked for the London Brick Company in Bedford for over 30 years.

Blues Academy Director, Denis Ormesher, said ..."This is great news for Nico.  He did well in the training camp last week, and this experience will be great development for him."
