END OF SEASON PARTY THIS SATURDAY

Bedford Blues return to Goldington Road this weekend for their final match of the 2014/15 Greene King IPA Championship season as they prepare to face fifth placed Nottingham on Saturday 25th April (Kick Off 3pm).

The Club hope supporters will turn out in force to mark the close of another Championship season and End of Season Party with live music following the final whistle and the Followers’ Player of the Season Presentation.

On the back of a disappointing 25-19 defeat away to Doncaster Knights at Castle Park last time out, Mike Rayer’s men will be hoping to bounce straight back against Nottingham this Saturday with the support of a roaring 16th man behind them to mark a celebratory end to a season littered with highs and lows.

The two teams last met back in September in the opening league game with Nottingham sealing the narrow 19-10 victory in a contest which could have gone either way. Now eight months down the line, a determined Bedford side in front of a home crowd will be hunting revenge to ensure they end the season on a high.

In order to ensure supporters get the most from their match day, Bedford Blues will be hosting an end of season party to celebrate the Championship drawing to a close and everyone is invited.

Mark Calder will be providing the evening’s entertainment with live music in the Blues Marquee running throughout the night, including an open mic session for anyone who fancies themselves as the next pop sensation.  Alternatively, if singing isn’t for you, make your way to the marquee dance floor to show off some of your best moves.

This week’s Guest Ale choice is Charles Wells DNA, the firm favourite from our recent Beer Festival, and what better way to celebrate the end of the Championship than with another Bedford beer on the pumps only available upstairs in the Eagle Bar.

Also following the match we will have the usual Anglian Fasteners Man of the Match presentation, plus the annual Followers’ Player of the Season so make sure you stick around. We will also be joined for the evening by the players as you get the chance to mull the season over with your stars and even enjoy a beer of two with them. At selected times we will have a short interview with players on the stage.

Hospitality is now fully sold out in the marquee, but arrive early and dine in Nos’s Nosh or head to one of the various catering outlets around the ground. There’s even chance to sample the best meat in Bedfordshire for free as match sponsor’s Woburn Country Foods host a small tasting stand outside the marquee.

Adding to the special occasion touring side US Salles, who have had a relationship with the Junior Blues for over 30 years, will be forming a Guard of Honour ahead of the match as the lads run out, so be sure to give them and our three mascots a loud cheer in support of tomorrow’s stars!

Take advantage of advance online discount and buy your tickets today at www.theclubshop.co.uk/bedfordblues  and save yourself £2.00 on every adult ticket purchased! There will also be plenty of tickets available on the gate come match day for those less organised – so join us at Goldington Road this Saturday for our End of Season Party.

Be aware that there will be road closures and diversions around the Bedford Western Bypass this Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th April near the Deep Spinney roundabout so please leave extra time if you are travelling from Bromham, Great Denham or surrounding western villages.
