INJURY UPDATE - CAMILO PARILLI-OCAMPO

Bedford Blues can confirm that prop Camilo Parilli-Ocampo suffered a broken right tibia during the Greene King IPA Championship clash with London Irish at the Madjeski Stadium on Sunday afternoon.

Parilli-Ocampo suffered the injury after being tackled two minutes into the second half and required treatment on the pitch before being taken to the Royal Berkshire Hospital where x-rays showed the full extent of the injury.

Speaking on social media from hospital, Camilo said: "I'd like to thank Bedford Blues and London Irish medical and support staff for their help today. Also massive respect to the NHS staff at the Royal Berkshire Hospital - efficient and friendly. Much love!"

Director of Rugby Mike Rayer said: "This is obviously a massive blow to Camilo and to the whole squad. As well as being a key player in the team, Cam is such a character both on and off the pitch and for him not to be a part of the squad for the foreseeable future is a a real kick in the nuts for us all.

"Everybody at Goldington Road wishes Camilo a speedy recovery and we'd also like to thank everyone at London Irish, the South Central Ambulance Service and the Royal Berkshire Hospital for their help and assistance on Sunday."

Camilo was discharged from hospital on Monday afternoon and will see a specialist next week.
