MATCH FOCUS: FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS & ALE FESTIVAL

Championship Rugby returns to Goldington Road under the Friday night lights this weekend as the Blues take on Yorkshire Carnegie (KO 7:45pm).  Book online discounted tickets here

Mike Rayer and his men currently sit in third spot, but an inform and revamped Yorkshire side under Chris Sterling will be intent on spoiling the home party as the Blues attempt to put pressure on second placed Ealing Trailfinders.

Minus a narrow loss to leaders London Irish, Bedford have made Goldington Road a fortress this season and fresh off the back of a comprehensive victory over London Scottish last time out, both sides will be full of confidence heading into the closing stages of the campaign.

The visitors have the most recent bragging rights, running out 38-14 winners in the Championship Cup at the start of February. They will no doubt be weary of Blues attacking threat however, scoring a total of 147 points over the course of their five league games so far in 2019. As always, the 16th man will be needed to help charge the Blues over the whitewash.

The much-anticipated clash will also play host to the Blues’ annual Real Ale Festival. Be sure to try one or two of the 17 ales on offer in the Blues Marquee, with a selection from; Wychwood Brewery, The Wandering Brewer Project, Brakspear Beer, Black Sheep Brewery, Eagle Brewery, Greene King Brewery, Ringwood Brewery, Marston’s Brewery, Jennings Brewery and more. Entrance to the Ale Festival is via the marquee side doors pitch side.

Gates open from 5pm leaving plenty of time for you to grab a programme and make your way to one of our bars to soak the Friday night pre-match atmosphere, and of course try some of our ales!

The next in our 'Legends Series' of Eco Cups will be available on Friday night! Paul Tupai will become the 5th in the collectable series that have been released throughout the season. Toops played over 250 games for the Blues and celebrated his Testimonial last year.

There is last minute hospitality space remaining in our new Lifesure Suite with 15% OFF for this selected match. Enjoy the Blues' most premium hospitality space for just £61pp, email sophie@bedfordrugby.co.uk to enquire now.

As the teams run out, be sure to give a big Blues welcome to both sets of players, as well as Ampthill RFC Under 9s, who make up the Autoglass Guard of Honour with the Bedford Bear.

At full-time make sure you stick around and head to the Blues Marquee for the Anglian Fasteners Man of the Match with MC Sam Roberts which will be followed by live music from the returning Mark Calder.

Don’t forget to wear your colours! The Club Shop, located just outside the entrance to the marquee, is stocked up with the latest Blues leisurewear items as well as replica kit, accessories and more.
