Friday Night Lights return to Goldington Road as Bedford Blues prepare to face Hartpury in the second pool game of the Championship Cup.
 
Bedford tasted defeat on the road last week as they went down 22-20 to the Cornish Pirates at the Mennaye Field, but the Blues were certainly buoyed by aspects of their performance as well as three well taken tries. 
 
Bedford and Hartpury faced off in the league last month with the visitors to Goldington Road coming within a whisker of winning had it not been for a final penalty drifting just wide of the uprights, and the Blues are expecting another tough encounter.
 
With a short week, rotation was always going to be key and there are no fewer than ten changes to the team that faced the Cornish Pirates. Pat Tapley comes in for his first competitive start of the campaign while on-loan prop Toby Trinder gets his first start having impressed from the bench last weekend. James Lennon and Lewis Robling make up the halfback combination while Rich Lane starts at outside centre. Jacob Fields and Alex Penny make up the new look front row while Mark Flanagan joins Ed Taylor, who captain's the side once more, in the the second row while Justin Blanchet, Josh Buggea and Jarad Williams make up the back row.

The fixture is also the Blues 8th annual Armed Forces and Emergency Services evening with free entry to all serving personnel. All attendees need to do is simply show their ID at the gate on match day for free ground entry.
