Bedford return to Goldington Road to face Jersey this weekend following two trips on the road which was the Blues pick up their first victory of the season against Plymouth.

The Blues had been left frustrated after taking two bonus points off London Scottish a fortnight ago, but they took that frustration and turned it into a bonus point victory against Albion thanks to a brace of tries from Dean Adamson and one apiece for Paul Tupai and Pat Tapley.

Now the Blues are looking to continue that good fortune as they welcome Jersey to Goldington Road for the encounter on Saturday afternoon.

Speaking ahead of the game, hooker Charlie Clare – who once pulled on the Jersey shirt – said: “Morale has been high all year but we've been left disappointed with the results. Now that we've got that first win under the belt and cast the monkey off our back, I think everyone is happy and looking to move forward again.
 
“We weren't particularly happy with our performance on Saturday compared to other games this season but attacking wise we looked really exciting with the ball in our hand and we looked like scoring tries.
 
“Personally I'm really looking forward to this weekend against Jersey as I'll be playing against my best mate and a few familiar faces. They have a really good pack and they've got a lot of talent within their squad. We got to keep the ball away from the threats, nullify their set piece and make sure we get the 16th man behind us.”
