MATCH PREVIEW V RICHMOND

After six weeks of cup competition, Bedford Blues return to Championship action this weekend with a festive fixture against Richmond at the Athletic Ground.
Saturday afternoon's clash sees the fifth placed Blues take on tenth place Richmond in from of the Sky Sports cameras and the Blues will be looking to build on the form that saw them winning four league games on the bounce before the cup intermission.
Blues forwards coach Alex Rae said: "Following a decent cup campaign, we are all looking forward to getting back into league action and know that we have a stern challenge ahead of us this weekend.
"Richmond at home are a real handful and play without fear so we’ll need to be on top of them from the start. We had a very attritional game against Hartpury last weekend and the lads had to dig deep to pick up the win. We'll need more of the same Saturday against Richmond if we want to give our numerous travelling fans some Christmas cheer."
Bedford make five changes from last weekend with Rich Lane returning to fullback and Lee Dickson at scrum half, while Jacob Fields starts at hooker, Alex Penny comes in at prop and Mark Flanagan takes his place in the second row.
