PLAN YOUR FRIDAY NIGHT AT THE BLUES

Friday night lights return to Goldington Road this Friday 20th March with an added mini beer festival in the Blues Marquee as Mike Rayer’s men prepare to face Cornish Pirates for the fourth time this season (Kick Off 7:45pm).

Following defeat against Yorkshire Carnegie last time out, the Blues will be hoping to bounce straight back against the West Country outfit, who will be looking to even the tables having lost two of the three encounters against Bedford this season.

Games between the two sides tend to be exciting affairs with each match this season producing a different dramatic result. The last meeting between the two sides saw Bedford cling on to a 41-40 victory to give them the upper hand in one of the most entertaining fixtures of the season thus far. The Blues will need the support of the 16th man to make Goldington Road a fortress this weekend and produce another special result against a team sat just two places above them.

A win would elevate the home side above Pirates in the table and would leave a climb into the top half a real possibility with only four Championship matches remaining after Friday night.

In order to ensure rugby fanatics get the most from their match day, the Blues will be hosting Bedford’s first ever Rugby and Beer Festival in collaboration with Charles Wells.

Blues supporters will be able to tickle their taste buds with plenty of locally brewed beers including; Bombardier, Bombardier Burning Gold, DNA, Directors, Courage Best, Young’s Bitter, Young’s Special, Young’s London Gold, Eagle IPA, guest ales; St. Austell’s Tribute and Proper Job, and not forgetting James Pritchard’s Testimonial beer Skippy JPA.

The beer festival will run late into the night proving a great atmosphere when coupled with live music from Mark Calder following the final whistle, so make Goldington Road your destination this Friday night for an evening of packed entertainment.

Local rugby clubs are taking part in a cashback incentive where Blues put money back in to the local community and we hope to see players and supporters alike enjoying the match day at the home of the Blues.

Gates open at 5pm ensuring fans get plenty of time to sample the beers on offer before the game gets underway. Tickets are available online with a £2 discount at www.theclubshop.co.uk/bedfordblues or from the gate on match day.
