YOUR PLAN TO LADIES DAY THIS SATURDAY AT THE BLUES

Goldington Road is busily preparing to welcome the female population of the region for the Blues’ annual Ladies Day as we attempt to turn Bedford pink this Saturday against Newport Gwent Dragons Prem Select (Kick Off 3pm, gates open 12 noon).

Again in support of Cancer Research UK, there are attractions for both men and women in the Blues Marquee, as well as another much anticipated rugby match as Blues aim to continue their good form in October against the Welshmen in the British & Irish Cup.

On top of two-for-one ground entry for all ladies (available on the match day gate only), there will as always be a host of offers available on the day in the Blues Marquee, including:

  • Free glass of rosé wine on arrival in the marquee for the girls.
  • Beauty treatments will be available for just £5 each courtesy of 5th Avenue with money raised donated to the charity.
  • Award winning cakes from Crumbs Sandwich and Cake Shop on Castle Road.
  • Blind Bear Wine Stall with special drinks menu.
  • Live music from Mark Calder throughout the day.
  • Baker Brothers Diamonds Prize Stall.
  • Prizes for the best dressed female presented by match sponsors Fire Safety Services after the game.
  • Auction of one-off player worn Ladies Day shirts in aid of Cancer Research.
  • Cancer Research Raffle including top prizes donated to the Club.

Raffle tickets will be on sale throughout the day with the competition, raffle and auction prizes unveiled from 5:30pm as the Blues players head into the marquee with events led by the superb MC Sam Roberts.

The raffle includes prizes donated by the Embankment Hotel, The Bedford Swan Hotel, 5th Avenue Hair & Beauty, Elms BMW, Baker Brothers, Charles Wells, Meatcure Bedford and The Knife and Cleaver Houghton Conquest.

The opposition will be relatively unknown in a competition the Blues will again be focusing on reaching the knockout stages and having now found a purple patch, Mike Rayer’s men will need the strong support of Bedford’s 16th man in another critical encounter to keep the winning streak going.

On the field the Blues will be back in pink this season, donning a one-off jersey to celebrate the day with all proceeds raised from the auction donated to the charity. You can bid after the match in the marquee or to make a silent bid, simply email your name, contact details and the amount to season@bedfordrugby.co.uk.

There’s much more going on off the field this Saturday to keep you entertained with the Eagle Bar still the real aficionado’s home with the quickest served pint of ale, including’s this week’s Guest Ale; Island Brewery’s Yachtsman’s Ale.

Post-game you can still enjoy the Michael R Peters Final Whistle. The new initiative with instant match reaction from a player and coach gives supporters a real insight to the match from an expert view in our cosy refurbished Eagle Bar setting.

This week’s SSG Guard of Honour will aptly be Bedford Junior Blues Girls team and the Bedford Bear, let’s make some noise for them and the boys as the teams run on.

Don’t forget the marquee has it all post-game this week with Man of the Match presentations, live music with Mark Calder and then competitions and giveaways from 5:30pm as the team and auction kicks off from 6pm – stick around for a fantastic evening at the Blues!

Tickets for the match are available to purchase online and save £4 by clicking here, but the 2-for-1 ladies offer only applies to tickets bought on the gate match day. Don’t miss out on a great event in aid of a very worthy charity and get yourself down to Goldington Road to cheer on the Blues and Pinks. Thank you to Fire Safety Services for their support and sponsorship of the day.
