Bedford Blues will be turning pink and green this weekend when they welcome Doncaster Knights in the Championship at Goldington Road.

After returning to winning ways with a 21-28 victory over Yorkshire Carnegie, Mike Rayer's men will be looking to follow that result up with a good performance in front of what is sure to be a bumper crowd enjoying the annual Ladies Day at Goldington Road.

Now in its 11th year, Ladies Day sees the Blues raising much needed funds for MacMillan Cancer Support with a range of on and off field activities including an auction for fans to win one of the unique shirts worn by the players on the day.

Bedford Blues have launched their one-off pink and green strip ahead of the annual Ladies Day fixture at Goldington Road this Saturday (KO 3pm).  To make a silent bid for one of the jerseys click here.

In an imperative Championship clash against Doncaster Knights, the Blues will once again be raising money for MacMillan Cancer Support with a host of on and off field activities planned, as well as the shirt auction.

The club has yet again setup another spectacular display which we hope to attract another sell-out attendance.

Bedford Blues broke their Headingley hoodoo as they put in a huge defensive effort and scored three forwards tries to win 21-28 against Yorkshire Carnegie on Sunday afternoon.

Jarad Williams, Ben Cooper and Jacob Fields all crossed the whitewash, while Jacob Atkins added 11 points from the boot before Will Hooley converted once to seal victory over a very tough Carnegie side.

Bedford enjoyed early possession and following a couple of clearance kicks from the hosts, the Blues moved forwards thanks to some ill-discipline before Atkins slotted three points when Carnegie infringed once again.

Bedford Blues will be heading up to Yorkshire on Sunday afternoon looking to return to winning ways in the Greene King IPA Championship.
 
Following narrow losses to Coventry, London Irish and London Scottish, Bedford head into the game looking for a return to form which saw them kicking off the season with wins over Nottingham and Jersey Reds.
 
Last season’s visit to Emerald Headingley Stadium was a tough one as the upright denied the Blues a draw when Will Hooley’s late conversion attempt bounced off and condemned the Blues to a 38-36 defeat having  fought back from 38-24 down with five minutes remaining.
 

Bedford Blues are hosting a Murder Mystery night with a difference on New Year’s Eve in the Marquee at Goldington Road.

See in the New Year in 80’s style with the Blues, including welcome drink on arrival, hot buffet, Murder Mystery entertainment with professional actors and 80’s themed disco to welcome in 2019.

Doors open at 7pm on Monday 31st December with carriages at 12:30am. Tickets cost just £37.50 per person for a night filled with entertainment.  

As Chairman of Bedford Blues, I believe our supporters deserve some clarification on events last weekend. Rumours have circulated since our 23-26 defeat to London Scottish on Saturday afternoon - namely that we had asked for the game to be postponed due to illness.
 
About a week ago, a few players came down with a sickness bug which left them extremely dehydrated and lacking energy. By Friday, that number had risen to 14 players.
 

Bedford Blues are delighted to announce details of the 11th Ladies Day in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support on Saturday 13th October against Doncaster Knights at Goldington Road (KO 3pm).

Still in support of breast cancer, the Club has chosen to work with Macmillan for a second consecutive year and turn the home of the Blues pink for the day (with a splash of Macmillan green).

Bedford Blues were left feeling quite literally sick at full time on Saturday afternoon as they went down 23-26 to London Scottish at Goldington Road.

Illness had swept through the Blues ranks during the week, but the 22 man squad fought valiantly from start to finish, only to be denied a glorious finale for all their hard work.

***Bedford have been forced in to a very late change after Jacob Fields was ruled out of today's game. Tadgh McElroy will now start with Charlie Clare coming onto he replacements bench***

Championship rugby returns to Goldington Road this weekend as Bedford Blues take on London Scottish at 3pm on Saturday.

There was a bumper points haul between the two teams last season with 174 in total over two games including the quite ridiculous 52-52 draw at the Athletic Ground just before Christmas.
