MATCH DAY FOCUS: BLUES FACE LONDON SCOTTISH

Bedford Blues return home this Saturday 29th September against London Scottish at Goldington Road following a seesaw of results in the opening Championship month (KO 3pm). Save £4 and book tickets online here.

Mike Rayer’s men started the season with two fantastic wins against Nottingham and Jersey Reds respectively, before defeats against Coventry and London Irish in the last two weeks.

With several players remaining on the physio bed, the Bedford troops will require a strong 16th man this weekend against the Exiles who registered their first win of the campaign over the Channel Islanders last week.

Scottish suffered narrow defeats in their first three outings, but contests between the Blues and Saturday’s visitors have typically been tense affairs with little separating the final score.

Off the field Goldington Road also has plenty to offer supporters! Pick up a revamped match programme on arrival as gates open from noon and head to one of the bars to soak up the pre-match atmosphere (and enjoy our new collectable eco cup scheme).

Our choice would be the upstairs Eagle Bar with a great choice of real ales; including Bedford’s own Eagle IPA, Greene King IPA or our as part of our returning Guest Ale series – Ringwood Brewery’s Boondoggle. For supporters on driving duty and feeling the cold, this week you can head to our gourmet coffee outlet situated near the Former Players Bar.

There are still spaces or tables available in the Blues Marquee for just £28 per person (excluding match ticket) for a three-course pre-match meal and entertainment. To book into hospitality email hollie@bedfordrugby.co.uk or sophie@bedfordrugby.co.uk, alternatively call 0871 871 1886.

As the teams run out please give a loud cheer for this week’s Autoglass Guard of Honour. This week made up of children who attended the Blues Community Summer Rugby Camp. If you would like to enter a team, school or group to form our welcome tunnel please email Blues Community on community@bedfordrugby.co.uk.

After the game we’ve got two choices for you; either head to the Blues Marquee for the Anglian Fasteners’ Man of the Match presentation and get your weekend party started with our old school club DJ putting on your Saturday night disco.

Alternatively, head upstairs to the Eagle Bar for the Michael R Peters Final Whistle with live reaction from Blues coaches and players. Remember you can ask the questions yourself - and win a pint of Greene King IPA in the process!

Don’t forget to pop into the Club Shop to check out the new Blues leisurewear range including the new home and away replica jersey. Located next to the marquee pop in to show your colours or to buy online visit https://shop.bedfordrugby.co.uk/.
