Bedford Blues will be hoping to continue the Christmas celebrations when they welcome table-topping Bristol to Goldington Road on Boxing Day for a huge festive clash.
 
A bumper crowd is expected at the game with the Blues looking to continue their recent good form but they will face their sternest test of the season against Andy Robinson's men who are yet to taste defeat.
 
It was four years ago that the two sides met on the same date and on that encounter Bedford Blues fans helped to clear four inches of snow from the pitch before Mike Rayer's men went on to win the game 39-22.

The Blues Academy play their final game before the Christmas break when they travel to play Shelford U21 XV tonight. Wednesday December 17th. 

Bedford again rotate their squad, making seven changes to the starting lineup that beat Saracens two weeks ago.  In the pack Owen Griffiths starts at hooker, Lewis Brunger at prop, Alex Burman at second row, and Zachary Scott-Gray (Richard Hale School and Herts U18s) makes his debut at No.8.  In the back line Dylan Leney starts at scrum half, Cameron Ives at centre and Max Titchener at full back.  Winger Richard Stewart (Tring and Herts U18s) and fly half Nat Abery (St, Joseph’s College, Ipswich) make their debuts on the bench.

Bedford Blues fans can have themselves a merry little Christmas following an absolute cracker of a game at Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon as the home side put on a superb performance to win 41-40.

A brace of tries from Paul Tupai along with one apiece for Dean Adamson, Pat Tapley and James Pritchard – who also converted all five as well as two conversions – ensured that the Blues won in a game that was tense throughout.
