Bedford Blues 2016 didn't end in quite the fashion that they would have liked as they went down 36-21 to London Irish, but there can be no doubting that the signs are positive following an impressive display against the former Premiership side.

While the hosts relied on their pack to secure their five tries over the course of the game, the Blues were more than happy to spread the ball around the whole squad with winger George Perkins, scrum half Tom Whiteley and replacement prop Camilo Parilli-Ocampo all crossing the whitewash.

Wow, wow, wow, wow, wow! What an afternoon of Rugby at Goldington Road as Bedford Blues fought until the bitter end to win an enthralling competition against Jersey Reds 39-37.
 
A whopping 4621 turned up for this Boxing Day encounter to see a brace of tries from Dean Adamson along with one each for Tom Farrell, Mike Le Bourgeois, Matt Gallagher and George Perkins. Myles Dorrian kicked seven points while a final conversion from Jake Sharp won the game for the Blues.

Goldington Road is sure to be full of festive cheer as Bedford Blues prepare to welcome Jersey Reds on Boxing Day for a Greene IPA Championship clash.

Bedford Blues chances of reaching the quarter-finals of the British & Irish Cup suffered a huge blow on Saturday afternoon as they went down 40-23 to Ealing Trailfinders at Vallis Way.

When the teams met in the league encounter earlier this season, a single point separated them while last weekend’s reversal saw a 19 all draw. But an impressive first half from the hosts saw them set up a healthy lead which, despite a late fight back from Bedford, they never surrendered.

COOPER RETURNS TO GOLDINGTON ROAD

As Peters and Lee once sang, it really is a case of 'Welcome home' as Bedford Blues have once again secured the services of tight head prop Ben Cooper from London Welsh.

After it was confirmed that Dave Spelman is likely to miss the remainder of the season following a serious knee injury, the Blues moved quickly to fill the void left in the front three and have been able to re-sign Cooper who left Goldington Road in 2014.

Bedford Blues recovered from 14-0 down after 13 minutes to draw 19 all with Ealing Trailfinders at Goldington Road in the third pool game of the British and Irish Cup on Saturday afternoon.

A try for Jason Hill plus eight points from the boot of Jake Sharp and two penalties from Myles Dorrian were enough to tie a game which saw Ealing hooker Alun Walker cross for a hat-trick on a soggy afternoon in Bedford.
