Goldington Road is busily preparing to welcome the female population of the region for the Blues’ annual Ladies Day as we attempt to turn Bedford pink this Saturday against Newport Gwent Dragons Prem Select (Kick Off 3pm, gates open 12 noon).

Again in support of Cancer Research UK, there are attractions for both men and women in the Blues Marquee, as well as another much anticipated rugby match as Blues aim to continue their good form in October against the Welshmen in the British & Irish Cup.

MATCH REPORT V ROTHERHAM TITANS

Bedford Blues put in a huge defensive display under the Friday Night Lights at Goldington Road to secure their second Championship win of the season as they overcame Rotherham Titans 17-16 on a soggy night at Goldington Road.

Tries for Dean Adamson and Jacob Fields put a nice shine on the win, but it was the defensive display from the entire squad that ensured that the Blues followed up last week’s win with another victory.

MATCH PREVIEW V TITANS

Friday Night Lights return to Goldington Road as Bedford Blues prepare to welcome the Titans in Round Six of the Greene King IPA Championship.

The Blues picked up their first victory of the season with a hard-fought 34-14 win over Richmond last weekend, but know that will count for little if they do not put in a big performance against the Titans.

Games between the two sides have always been hugely competitive and fiercely contested and the Blues will be expecting much of the same when Justin Burnell's new look side visit Bedford on Friday night.

FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS THIS WEEK V TITANS

The Blues are back at home this Friday under the lights against Rotherham Titans in another critical encounter as Bedford hope to climb the Championship table (Kick Off 7:45pm).

The fixture is also the Club's annual Armed Forces and Emergency Services evening with free entry to all serving personnel, simply show your ID at the gate on match day for free ground access.

Following last Saturday’s comprehensive home win versus Richmond, Mike Rayer’s men are working hard ahead of a challenging encounter against Justin Burnell’s troops who will be hurting after a Yorkshire derby loss in Leeds last weekend.

LADIES DAY 2016 JUST A FEW DAYS AWAY

For the ninth season running the Blues will be turning pink for annual Ladies Day on Saturday 15 October against Newport Gwent Dragons to help raise funds for Cancer Research UK and specifically their breast cancer projects.

It’s less than a week away and the Club would like to encourage Bedford’s female fans through the turnstiles to help show their support at a buy one get one free special entry.

Gates open at midday with 2-for-1 entry for all ladies on the day as well as complimentary rosé wine on arrival to the marquee before the game kicks off at 3pm - while stocks last that is!

MATCH REPORT V RICHMOND

Bedford Blues recorded their first win of the season in a hard fought encounter against Championship new boys Richmond at Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon.

Six tries – including a hat-trick for Pat Tapley – ensured a bonus point win for the Blues, but they were certainly made to work extremely hard for their victory.
