Blues Community are pleased to announce their next TWO fun filled Rugby Camps for the Summer Holidays between the dates of Tuesday 20th –  Thursday 22nd and Tuesday 27th – Thursday 29th August at Goldington Road. Click here to book now.

Both camps are open to boys and girls between the ages of 5-15 with all levels of ability welcome and will be held at the home of the Blues. Led by Head of Community, Dominic Fraser, and supported by experienced coaches, including Blues players, youngsters will all enjoy a first-class rugby experience.

Bedford Blues are pleased to launch a Legends Tour Series in conjunction with Charles Wells Pub Co. this summer, starting on Thursday 23rd May at The Knife & Cleaver, Houghton Conquest, with the last Blues captain to lift a trophy, Matt Allen.

The six events have been created following the launch of the Blues Eco Cup series last season with former players; Matt Allen, Budge Rogers, Ben Whetstone, memories of Mark Howe from Ian Peck and Gareth Davies, Andy Finnie and Paul Tupai.

The season may be over but Bedford Blues have continued their preparations for the new campaign with two more names added to the squad list.

Making a very welcome return to Goldington Road will be second rower Jordan Onojaife while Huw Worthington has put pen-to-paper on a new deal to remain a Blues player in 2019/20.

Speaking about the signings, Director of Rugby, Mike Rayer said: “It's brilliant news we have both Jordan and Huw signed up for next season. Jordan’s all round game is perfectly suited to our style of play while Huw’s had a tremendous season with the physicality he has brought.

The curtain came down on the Bedford Blues 2018/19 Championship campaign with the End of Season Gala Dinner on Friday night.

Players, coaches, directors and fans came together in the Blues Marquee to celebrate another wonderful season which saw the Blues finishing in third place once again as well as reaching the knockout stages of the cup.

With MC Sam Roberts orchestrating the event, Director of Rugby Mike Rayer, Captain Lee Dickson and Chairman Geoff Irvine all spoke and paid tribute to the amazing support that had followed the club whether at home or on the road.

Bedford Blues are delighted to announce that West Indies cricket captain, Jason Holder, will be our special guest speaker on Tuesday 4th June in the Blues Marquee.

With the ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 taking place throughout June and July, Holder will be joining us between West Indies matches, and just two days prior to their fixture against Australia at Trent Bridge.

Holder is currently playing for Northants CCC in six one-day games in preparation for the World Cup, our thanks to the County Cricket Club and West Indies Board for allowing this commitment.

Bedford Blues rounded off the Greene King IPA Championship season with a comprehensive 38-13 win over Nottingham at Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon.

Two penalty tries along with a brace from Matt Worley and one apiece for Ryan Hutler and Charlie Clare secured the win on a blustery afternoon which looked as if the wind would play a big impact on proceedings and neither team particularly keen to implement a kicking game.

The final round of the Greene King IPA Championship is upon us as Bedford Blues welcome Nottingham to Goldington Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Blues will be hoping to finish the season as they started it while making a claim for third spot but know that Ben Fowkes men will be in determined mood as they aim to finish as high up the table as possible.

Bedford head into the game off the back of a disappointing defeat to Ealing Trailfinders last week and will be hoping to put on a great final performance for the home fans.

Goldington Road will once again host the end of season East Midlands Cup Final as the local clubs battle for cup honours as the curtain comes down on the end of another campaign on Tuesday 30th April (KO 7:30pm).

Bedford Athletic who are the current holders of the cup, will be looking to defend their title having won against the odds last season defeating Peterborough Lions by 30 points to 19. 

Their opponents this season will be the other Peterborough club who having slumped in recent years are now on the comeback trail with a very respectable fourth place finish this season in Midlands One East.
